Heavy music fans now have a packed calendar for 2027. Within days of each other in late September, Metallica and Slipknot announced major stadium tours that will take two of metal’s biggest names across North America and beyond. Here is everything confirmed so far.
Metallica: the M72 World Tour rolls on
Metallica revealed 12 new North American stadium shows for May and June 2027, the latest extension of the M72 World Tour that began in 2023. Limp Bizkit and Avatar will open every date. Unlike earlier legs, which featured “No Repeat Weekends” with two different sets in each city, these shows are single nights.
- May 8: Vancouver, BC Place
- May 13: San Diego, Snapdragon Stadium
- May 18: El Paso, Sun Bowl Stadium
- May 22: San Antonio, Alamodome
- May 26: Fayetteville, Razorback Stadium
- May 29: Kansas City, Arrowhead Stadium
- June 2: Raleigh, Carter-Finley Stadium
- June 5: Indianapolis, Lucas Oil Stadium
- June 8: Buffalo, Highmark Stadium
- June 12: Madison, Camp Randall Stadium
- June 15: Cleveland, Huntington Bank Field
- June 19: Salt Lake City, Rice-Eccles Stadium
Before then, the band is busy closer to home. Its “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas runs from October 2026 to March 2027, and two shows at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on November 19 and 21 mark the venue’s 25th anniversary.
Slipknot: the (sic)est Stadium Tour
Slipknot’s summer 2027 run, produced by Live Nation, opens at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 3 with Marilyn Manson, Lorna Shore and Hatebreed. The North American leg follows, with Bring Me The Horizon as direct support on every date and a rotating cast of guests that includes Lamb of God, Motionless In White, Polyphia and Lorna Shore.
North American stops include Washington’s Nationals Park (July 16), Citi Field in Queens (July 18), Montreal (July 21), Toronto (July 23), Chicago’s Soldier Field (July 25), Boston’s Fenway Park (July 31), Nashville (August 3), Houston (August 6), SoFi Stadium in Inglewood (August 13), Golden Gate Park in San Francisco (August 15) and Phoenix’s Chase Field (August 18).
The tour then heads to South America in September, with dates in São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima and Bogotá. The band has promised a new set, new staging and a career-spanning setlist.
Ticket tips
- Metallica tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
- Slipknot’s general on-sale began on October 2 after artist and Knotfest presales on September 29. Timelines vary by market, so check local listings.
- Buy from official sellers where possible, and be cautious of inflated resale listings, especially for in-demand dates.
Why it matters
Stadium tours remain the most lucrative part of the modern music business, and rock and metal acts with multigenerational fan bases are among the few that can reliably fill them. Announcing a year or more in advance gives fans time to plan travel and gives promoters an early read on demand. For more tour news, visit our Music section.
